Description

Few things are harder in life than losing a parent as a child.

Debra Kantor knows that feeling. So does her son, Greg. Their same-sex parents died when they were six and sixteen years old, respectively. Unfortunately, they’re two of many in their family to have struggled with the same situation – growing up with one parent.

In their StoryCorps conversation, Debra reflects on how her experience of losing her mom helped her support Greg in a similar time and the special bond they share.
