00:03 Okay, my name is Nadia beavers. I'm 18. Today is Saturday April 10th. 2021. My location is amario's Art Academy, Atlanta, Georgia, Eye Partners, Isaiah, and I know him through class Menendez. I am Anderson. I am also 18 years old.

00:33 Pretty much what Nadia said is, you know, it's Saturday, April 10th 2021. We're doing this India. Mario Art Academy in Italy and said my partner is in a DS, and I know her from, you know, our class.

00:54 I guess I'll start a, how do you feel about Virtual School?

01:02 Okay.

01:04 I thought were going to do these in order to okay,. I feel about virtual school. So school is just school to me nowadays.

01:24 You know, I know how I feel pretty. Okay about it, you know, I've been doing it for awhile. I hope everyone else feels okay about it now that it works.

01:35 How do you feel about a virtual schooling?

01:41 I think it's like it's different because I have gone into school my whole life. So it's very different to be at home all the time. But as far as like the learning part, I don't mind it because what's a me and helps me focus more like takes up my time and I'm physically my work as well. But if you look at home, I have a lot more time to focus and actually learn. But I think I would like to be in school to be around friends and stuff. But other than that, it's okay.

02:26 I think you're going next.

02:34 I'm trying to answer them. Okay, how is your life been different the past year than what you imagined. It would have been if covid than half for me personally. Like I don't really have that many places to go to like in my hometown, you know at the moment and you know like it I guess, you know, we traveled a lot less cuz no one thing my family likes to do is like travel around you and we like to see relatives and friends all around the country and you know, like a light up Stadium.

03:14 Like Gulf State northern southern sometimes we'd go to other countries, Jamaica for like vacation whatever you do and I guess we did like a little bit less of that. Then we thought that we would hopefully we'll be able to do all that again. Hopefully, you know, hopefully when all this one's down, we can travel around a lot more often.

03:59 I'm okay. Same question to you. How's your life and like, one on, wish whatever questions you would just ask me.

04:19 Okay. Well, I had like I'll see school so I don't do it in person school anymore. But then also like I guess a lot of everyday stuff like art class like we used to go to our class on Saturdays and now he do during the week. I'm supposed to go to summer camp. I didn't get to do that in the grand. Scheme of things is sort of small, but it was important. And then I have to get one.

04:53 Is it wasn't like I wasn't like I still had stuff to do. I got a lot of stuff to do at my house like drawing in.

05:03 Stop pick up a lot of hobbies for there is definitely a lot of activities that I did not get to do and then just be asses hanging out with other people. I guess is a lot of what not there anymore. So

05:25 How has it been spending 24/7 with your family?

05:33 Well, I mean, you know, how you usually been 24/7 with my family. Anyway, you know, it's so no, not not as different as you know, it would be if we didn't have this whole time that me going on. You know, I still have fun with them. All right, how is it been spending 24/7 with the with your family?

06:06 I mean.

06:09 I mean, I was hyping up all the human interaction with other people outside your family, but most of time before covid, I really was was different cuz they're all so close by Thursday to not that far away. So I saw them when we could saw them more often. So it really wasn't that much different like you said.

06:34 Okay, I guess it's your turn.

06:40 I guess we can get to the superhero part. Do you have any favorite stories about your about your favorite? Superhero Heroes? Just a personal heroes in general.

06:56 Okay. Well then I guess you should start with who is the biggest super in your life. So then you can do the stories then.

07:09 I guess I'll get the easy part over all the way and I was all cool and stuff. But I guess for my personal superhero, superhero. Superhero would have to be like, everyone in my personal. I just don't like people that I know, are like my personal superheroes, like my parents, my friends and, you know, even my teachers, you know, that you are at work and you like a cetera, you know, I like they basically gave me someone to talk to while I was. Ndemic was going on. And I was able to, you know,

08:03 Basically be present for them as well. And all I got I was going to return the favor by keeping them company as well during. Yeah. That that's

08:22 Who's your who's your biggest superhero in real life?

08:33 I don't. Okay. Well, I don't think I have a favorite fictional one that it's too hard for non-fictional. I would say I would agree that it's not like a single person. But I would say it's all, like, the people that I like soft rock, pandemic that we're by creating our and others, like forms of media creators that still were able to like, make, they make new things and be inspired. And I think that inspired me to keep creating art, I guess.

09:16 Just being in your house all the time. It's easy to just like time, get bored with your surroundings. So I think they like inspired me. So now you can you grab like a specific example, like was there, one particular artist you want to mention or a work of art that, that you experience that said during the pandemic that was really inspiring to you.

09:46 I can it's not a stomach ache, but I did see a couple times where a lot of artists came together on one day to like, create a bunch of our surrounding about like their experience with a pandemic. And I thought that was really interesting to look at because they were all different, but they were all centered around the same idea. So

10:16 Okay, what was the other superhero question that was on here that you want to ask at first? I guess we can also do fictional and non-fictional. I guess my favorite story with Spider-Man in it. I suppose. It sounds like a lot of cool stories, iconic stories. And a lot of like life lesson type of story is well, but for non fictional, like I said, my non fictional superhero is just people that faced interact with no friends family Etc. I guess I can't really take out if they were story in that regards and I have lots of good stories with my

11:16 Friends, let alone, my family and, you know, like a one, it would be any time. Me and my family went on vacation and you like, for my friends. Probably any time that we all hang out on call together, you know, like, sometimes you would all Call of each other and watch like superhero trailers together and I'll just get all height and

11:44 Yeah, anyway, same question to you. What's

11:54 I'm trying to find the question that you know, so I can read it to you. Do you have any favorite stories about your?

12:04 I kind of like Russian earlier with the like the art that I saw like people coming together to mate and their different arbitrations. That's like the super like the non-fiction of soup. Do I guess you could say that's one of them. Another will it was probably also be like I enjoyed.

12:29 My smart remotes are the way artists like uplifted each other, I guess through social media cuz there was no it for a while. Depending if there was no humans in person at all. It's so a lot of people took. So even getting really used it to encourage other people to draw and I liked looking at that but fictional eyes.

12:56 I do a lot of my favorite stores are fictional superheroes are like not the story to spell experiences of seeing the doors with other people like in the movie theater, stuff like that.

13:08 So,

13:11 Read greed.

13:19 I'll ask one.

13:22 What do you think your life will be like when you are older? Well, I mean we're getting older every second of every day. But I mean if if I had to like I guess I've heard talk in like 10 years from now. I'll probably be living like any other adult, you know, just so, you know, trying to like get my passions out there just so you know, just trying to be the best meal. I can be trying to make as many like friends with as many people as possible. And, you know, of course, I always keep in touch with my family and for smell like a and my friends, you know, any any friends that I have made and any friends that I will make

14:08 I'm in the yeah, I'm just overall just doing my dreams and my passions.

14:18 All right, you're doing what. Where do you see yourself as an adult?

14:30 Well, hopefully, out of college. No, I'm not sure how far into the future this ass, but hopefully, after I graduated, and I want to take pictures for, like, all sorts of stuff. So, hopefully, I'm like, traveling the world and doing that, and having fun. And I guess,

14:59 I hope we are covid free when we are older. Hope that is something that is at the very least. Not as much of a hindrance as it is now.

15:14 Okay.

15:17 I think it's your turn.

15:20 So, for the generations, that shall listen to this. Like, later, what would you like to stay to them or want them to know? Okay, I guess if there's any advice I would give to anyone. It's this. No. Don't. Don't take care of. Don't take her talents for granted and, you know, like a girl when I, when I Revisited do a certain Talent side. Yeah. I didn't realize how important they were until I was much older than you.

16:06 I just figure out stuff, just figure out what exactly they want to do with their talents or what talents, they want to learn but overall out like no matter what town. Do you have the matter how many times you have? Just don't take them for granted.

16:29 Your your turn.

16:32 I guess I would say like,

16:37 I guess. Well, I assume Vice. I will say is like you don't have to tie yourself down to one topic or hobby or profession. Like I feel like you a lot of people feel like they don't they only have a couple years to do what they want and then that's it. But you have your whole life and you can switch to switch around, do different stuff. So I guess I was saying just to try not to

17:09 Choose one thing and then stick with that forever if that's not what you want to do.

17:14 If there's something else that you want to add to that, then just jump into it cuz that's fine.

17:34 So what do you think about the healthcare workers? Who work who been working during the week? It would definitely be the healthcare workers trying to make the world a safer place, you know, just trying to just make people as safe as they can be and you know, I like that.

18:01 Are you know, if you haven't like if you haven't like giving any props to the healthcare workers who are no working by covid, you definitely should.

18:15 Your turn.

18:18 I think they're doing like a really hard job. Not that like health care workers, were just do it. When most people go with health care. They don't think of like situation like this, where it's like, thousands and thousands and come into the hospital, especially when there was a point where there wasn't enough resources to take care of everybody there. So I think they're doing a doing a really hard job really well and doing their absolute best and I think

18:59 Bats.

19:01 They are.

19:06 They did we have that. This is very much like intelligent and patient and have a lot of

19:14 Good skills, that a lot of other people. Like I don't think everybody would have been able to do that this type of job during covid-19. 242 mission.

19:44 What do you do to help with stress?

19:50 Usually, it's just me, I guess.

19:55 Like the same thing as any kid, my age would do, you know, like ya'll just take some time to myself but I am just chill out. Watch TV play games, you know, practice of my talents and particularly like this drawing, take some time off too. If you do, you draw.

20:19 And I'll just I just I just basically just chill out like any other kid would along with the just practicing my talents to do with his artwork.

20:32 Your turn.

20:36 For most of the time. Like if it's a specific thing, like score to something that stress me out. I like take a break from it, and go do something else. I listen to music. I play like some type of game that doesn't require like game that like kind of motor skills games, like tapping things, like that. That kind of don't Focus so much on thinking of solutions, rather than just singing. Just looking at the game, playing it and then I'll come back and see how I feel about whatever it is, that's causing me stress, but in general, I'll just do some of my hobbies or listen to music or Draw.

21:45 Are you certain question? Do you think it is possible to be able to do art, like Elevate art Beyond a hobby to like a profession? Cuz that's what a lot of us would I do without it? Being stressful, is an original question.

22:02 Yes, okay. Repeat again.

22:05 Do you think it's possible to turn art, which is like a talent that we all have in a hobby into a profession? Without it being stressful? All sure. If you basically making this something that, you know, that's yours. I suppose, you know, like, if you're making like your own comic or you know, what your own like character or your own like anything, did I like as long as it's yours and or you don't like them, I guess, if you're not like doing it for other people enjoying it, while you're doing it like, as long as it's something that you enjoy, then then yeah, I don't think it should be stressful.

22:54 I guess we're going with original questions.

22:59 What do you plan on doing? Like like when you become an adult? Like like what? I wore your like, current Ambitions as of right now, like after you're done with high school and probably be College.

23:17 Well, after high school, go to college and that is 4 years. So Patron for concerts more specifically. I'd like to be like a in-house potiphar for the record label. If it's possible and do stuff like that pictures and things like that.

23:46 And then also just draw do a lot of drawings. I hope I still like want to draw and have a desire to do art and stuff like that.

24:03 What year, After High School in this year? I'd also like to go to college and I'd like to major in cartooning and Conoco station. That's what I want to do when I get older.

24:21 You don't, maybe I'll have some other other hobbies to basically look into when I did order that. Yeah, that's outside of artwork. That's right. Now, that's basically what I'm trying to do as of right now.

24:34 In the, in the moment.

24:37 All right. Let me see if I can find a question. I'm here.

24:50 Okay, bear with me.

25:00 Okay. What things do you miss the most from your life before the pandemic? I don't know if you already asked that.

25:14 No, I don't think.

25:19 Spring before the pandemic. Well, I guess see my friends in person doing extracurriculars for art academy sport that like going in person to be doing now.

25:40 I miss you being able to go outside without worrying about covid-19 sense, like not having to think about that all the time.

25:56 Also, I guess I'm Sorry. Miss like the idea of like something being like a gathering or activity being planned and there's like no? On if it will actually have a lot of the stuff that like school-related stuff that's playing. It's not like sitting on because of how unpredictable Cove it is. So

26:20 What about you? What do you miss before? For me? I guess it would be just going outside anywhere without worrying about getting sick. No without no without worry being like a top priority.

26:38 You know, just like what I don't miss is going outside with a! Over my head, like,

26:50 You know, just looking everywhere, making sure like

26:54 Like no one without a mask is like around me.

26:59 Ain't no, just like a.

27:02 Just like, I also don't miss having to carry hand sanitizer. Everywhere. I Go.

27:09 The stuff I do miss. I I also miss getting my friends in person. You know, what you mean is especially hard for me in particular because all my friends. I don't live in, like the same state as I do. So sometimes out to go across country to meet my friends in different cities, and I'm not sure I'll be able to do that sometime in the future. But like I said right now, like that's definitely something that looks like we can't do. I also miss going to events, one of my favorite events. I would like to go to work like conventions, you know, like comic book convention, those, those are really fun. And you know, I don't really see any of those nowadays. Hopefully, the open those again, cuz, you know, I like young kids like it will also be like

28:05 Like they don't sound like costume contests and I would always intern costume. Contests y'all like just for fun.

28:16 What else?

28:18 I haven't really been going to any fast food restaurants since the since we've been derelict mosa most of my cooking, you like not like most like I'm sure I still could but like for some reason me and my family just don't usually go to like fast food restaurants. We we probably will when we when we get back to the end, but as of right now, like that's something that I missed.

28:50 All right. Let me, let me find a question.

28:58 Okay.

29:05 It is okay. I don't know if it's virtual learning as effective to you as in person learning. I don't know if we ask that.

29:16 We sort of talked about it, but we didn't actually ask questions. So I'll just talk about it.

29:23 I mean, personally for me, I've always kind of been, like a self-study type student. Like I am Young when I go to school, I learned information but it never was difficult for me to like study outside of school. So I don't I think Birch Run for me. Is that a fact? Well now what is I want to stay at first when we first had to leave school, all that. It was very chaotic and I will say that maybe not as to the nature of the chaos of the beginning of pandemic, but now that like, some order has been established. I think for me, it is

30:08 But I do think that virtual, I do think that virtual learning is not always applicable to every student because why I was successful. Other students have other needs that teachers can provide better in person that they need and I think it makes it difficult for younger kids. High school is way different than learning the fundamentals in elementary school or other foundations in middle school and gets a little more difficult, but

30:42 Do you think virtual learning is as effective to you as in person? Like?

30:53 Like regular school, you know, like like public school. For example, like I guess like a

31:01 I don't mean to throw any shade at Public Schools. I'm sure they're doing the best they can but but basically like what I've learned is that like public school teaches like like they teach a lot of stuff that we don't have to need to know, you know it like, you know, like the dang like what is not like

31:30 Unless you're like a mathematician or like a, I don't know, like an architect. Like like I doubt that you're going to need to tag you in like your day-to-day life if you get what I'm saying?

31:48 Unfortunately, for me, I still had to learn the Pythagorean theorem like while I'm virtual learning, but that's beside the point.

32:01 But you know, like your overall, like a virtual learning y'all. They do teach you like the like, basically all the fundamentals. It's like basically be like the essential stuff that you really need. And also, like, for me personally, like, like, I don't know if like, your virtual learning experience like mine, but like, you know, sometimes like like I spend as many hours as I would in like regular school. Like I like, I want to spend eight hours like sitting in like on like in front of my computer like doing school. You don't like for me personally, I would spend out like eight hours doing, you know, that's also like a lot better for me for so, you know, could like it saves me a lot of time and a lot of time to, you know, focus on my hobby is in between my talents and it'll just overall stuff that cause matter in my life.

32:56 Well, that's interesting because I figured that it would be a difference. Since you are already in an established or to learning environment where areas like my school in a lot of other schools at 1. So you said, you don't sit at a desk all day, but that's like we have our classes on zoom and it is a, our stay. I don't stay up because I only have three classes. Purses for, but if you're like a freshman or sophomore, most of those kids don't have, like, to think there's more of a strain, I guess with going from the doing the public schools versions of online school. Because it's not so much Virtual School. Like what? You're thinking, it's more like if that makes any sense.

33:56 Yeah, I like, I mean, like, I suppose are different, like, curriculums are very different with each other, you know, like like I mean like actual like public school since like middle school. So I feel like I've learned. I just want that home and spend on like learning is like, do you know the time that I would spend if my parents were teaching me. You know? And, and also like Todd the fundamentals in all like not like

34:37 You like II layout, learn like a lien on it. Looks like you're not going to see me doing the whole match class like virtually. So, you know, I like I can always just pick up a cookbook and just learned myself, you know, like all my free time you like it. That's like a hobby. If I wanted you to know I called Mack is like like that feels more like a like more like a hobby to the, I'm sure you're not doing home neck, and your virtual classes, but he might lie. Me like that person example.

35:13 That's also like,

35:16 Another interesting idea because well for the record, I don't need that type of classes that require a lot of physical things for the school to provide that you just simply could not get another thing. You're not going to see me doing virtual tears, virtual PE work. Like, how how do you do that?

35:57 Okay. So basically you don't like a matching your own Zoom. The kids have to put the camera like kind of far away and they do the exercises for everybody else and then I can take it like a Simon's, but I was fortunate enough to do PE in ninth grade. So I get the long time ago before Colton even happen. Like you can't play basketball. You can't play stop. I mean, honestly, besides aerobics jumping jacks, maybe, sit ups, it will probably take a minute to set up your computer to do that, or, or maybe you don't even have to have your camera on. Like, I don't know.

36:54 Definitely different and then like, you have your art classes and you have to, if you don't have our supplies, you have to go up to the school and get art supplies. It's me. Like I said, it's very different and a lot of this and then even some of the classes that had that physical aspect. We just can't sit all together cuz it was really hard to try to slip something that for the online children. So

37:22 Definitely an interesting experience that the juggle this virtual list of school. And like, I think a lot of schools tried to keep trying to make Virtual School exactly like in person school. And I think that's the problem because it's not going to be like in person school. And I think that kind of defeats the purpose and makes everything harder to try to make it like in person School.

37:52 Is that it for the question?

37:57 I guess I got this my turn I suppose. All right. I'm going to name you like name your top three favorite artists, like what kind of artist, you know, it could be like a like a like a like a

38:36 What do low level like artists, like from Pinterest? Like any, any anyone anything just named off?

38:46 You drive a hard bargain. Okay, a lot of the artists. I like are on Instagram actually.

39:00 How to remove the nearest shop, you go first and give your while I contemplate. All my favorite artists are comic book artists. My first favorite would have to be early Alex Ross. He does a lot of comics like very hyper realistic, portrait style art. And, you know, the guy I like, I have one of his like, a like pieces as like a public. I like, I have like a poster of like one of those are pieces in my room, you know, like, I think he draw Spider-Man really? Well. You draw Superman really. Well like it if you, if you haven't seen is already should really check it out.

39:45 My second favorite artists would have to be, I guess Mark Bagley. He's more of a traditional comic book artist and I like his stuff is more like a comic book. Y'all but also has like some piece of realism in it. He does a lot of good, if you draw Spider-Man really. Well, we're lucky. He's he's he's a really good Spider-Man artist. If you haven't seen, his are also go check that out and I guess the last artist that's on my list would have to be

40:26 Ashley, okay.

40:29 I'm going to add one extra one because this this person has a son who also does Heart John reminded senior and Junior. John. Romita. Senior has a really classic art. He also did Spider-Man are back in the day. He's a very popular artist. I forget what else he's done, but he's done a lot of a Kyle books in like the 7th and his son has not also I got like he he's more like a more modern artists know he's done more stuff like a early 2000s and today.

41:08 I don't know if his dad is still doing art to this day in but I know he is more like more are everyday. You know, he he does he does more stuff Inspire like he's done Spider-Man gets done Batman and Superman. He does like a bunch of different characters long with his own stuff.

41:32 And if you haven't heard of any of those artists that I am, because I'm sure if you were going to see this, never heard of those artists or if you've never seen their artworks, go check them out.

41:49 All right.

41:52 Now, I have contemplated and I have come up with a response to think about it.

42:01 No, it's okay. So my first is forgive me if I'm just Francis name, but I do like John fast. Yeah, I think it's

42:13 I just think it's art is really interesting with all the colors in the lines and the way he just puts bite the way his pieces are like put together. Always there always like a look at and I can look at them for a long time.

42:35 Well, all my artists are kind of like illustrators painter stuff like that. So it's not really care who so much as like it's works. And I don't have favorites. I just kind of just like, looking at it. I like looking at all of this works my other favorite, but I've really been like, in Holly Warburton, just like oil pastel work. And it's always these really bright colors and all her work almost. Looks like she does it on canvases that are like, other than white canvas is like blue or green or red of like that.

43:20 And they have a lot of emotion, I think.

43:23 Am I third artist? This isn't an artist so much as an art style. I really like the Art Nouveau type Styles. Like it's if you look it up. It's like a lot of lines and really detailed backgrounds in the water flowy outfits and hair stuff like that. They almost kind of look like playing card sorting.

43:44 But I am best. I still really lying heavy and colorful type artwork that I like looking at.

43:54 Right.

43:58 I think it's your turn to ask a question.

44:02 When you guys are whenever you're at 44 minutes, so whenever whenever you guys feel like it, you can you can wrap up. But if you want to ask one more, go ahead and ask one more question to each other.

44:14 That's okay. Well what questions do we already read? Like every 6 going to be like more than one at once, but we can, if you want to ask another one that we haven't directly, as we can ask him like, talk about it.

44:39 What's the first drawing or doodle that you made that you can remember like back when you're like a kid like what the first thing that you remember drawing?

44:53 It was probably, I think it was a face and it had like

45:01 If I can remember correctly, I had to have been one or some third grade and it was like the little kid type people with the like eyes that connect to each other, kind of like a Charlie Brown, like a sort of look like that. And that's sort of what I can remember. First drawing. I have like memories of drawing at the Art Academy, like, those are strong. So, what about you drawings? Like, when I was a kid? I remember drawing from movies that I really like, I would draw her like a, like kids books that would read. No, just like childhood stuff. Like, I would remember doing like Harry Potter drawings. Like when I was a kid working out Spider-Man drawing tonight with the kids be like,

45:55 I think it's fair to say it. Like like obviously I can't show off my kids drawing of now, but if I could, you probably got her say all, because there are very, they're very much to say. They're very childish, strong.

46:16 It's it's really crazy. Seeing how far we come from when he came to our our style. As for us, for the first, like, real piece. I didn't like the Art Academy. I forget, which one was like my first, but I do know which one was my best. If he gone to the Amarillo, Art Academy website. I think I'm on, like, the front page of like the website. Like, like you'll be like a like a kid who looks a lot like me and like little glasses and you'll see that like in the front page. I was doing like the Giants, fireman portrait that I have in my house.

46:59 I'm you should be able to see that India in the front page. So like to anyone watching us.

47:11 And yeah, that's pretty much it.

47:17 Okay. Well, it was nice. Having this conversation out of you.
