Jacob Saul (19) from Bristow, VA, and Kate-Lin Ly (19) from Northern Virginia participated in this One Small Step conversation as part of their Public Service Pathways 1-credit UNST course at UVA. Jacob shares how growing up in a multicultural household had a large impact on his life. Kate-Lin discusses her mother’s influence on her, and what it was like growing up as the youngest sibling. Jacob reflects on how his parents saved money to help support their family, and how he carries those lessons today. The two discuss topical issues that they are learning and thinking about, including the military, reproductive rights, and gun rights.
