Jacque (J) asks Holly (H) about her current assignment. She is the Chief of Joint Staff of the Wyoming Air National Guard and Wyoming Army National Guard.
H talks about joining the military and how she wound up in the 67th Army band.
H talks about her parents' reactions to her joining, as well as her experience in basic training. She also discusses the differences in basic training for men and women at the time.
J ask H if she had a female role model in the service. H talks about finding her mentor.
H discusses her time of the Civil Support Team, eventually becoming the first female and 1st Air Force commander of that unit.
H speaks about how the 1st time she interviewed for that position she did not get it because she was deemed too emotional.
J asks H what is the best thing about the National Guard. She discusses how moving up the ranks as a female is important for representation.
