Jim (J) asks Helen (H) what it was like living in the great depression and WWII. They touch on H's mothers life.
J asks H why she enlisted in the military as a nurse. She worked at a paraplegic and quadriplegic nursery and remembers old patients (75 years later, she is able to draw a diagram of each bed and remembers each patient). H tells a story of one patient telling her what her nickname was, and how a paraplegic died.
H talks about the passing of her fiancee at the time and how it affected her.
H talks about her own sickness while in the Navy, and how a doctor told her she would live only 20 more years (she is now one month away from 100, with 8 kids).
H gives advice to kids and talks about being a mother.
H tells the story of how she met Jim's father.
