Description

Jennifer shares her story with Kirsten of how through a series of unfortunate events she went from "supermom" to dealing with an opiate addiction and living on the streets. While on the streets she got pregnant with her third child. She wanted to make sure she had a healthy baby and turned to the Substance Using Pregnant People (SUPP) program, but she wasn't ready to get clean and Child Protection took her newborn baby away from her and let her parents raise him. A few years later she found out she was pregnant again, only this time she was ready and turned to the SUPP program for help. She was able to get clean from the opiates and the SUPP program helped her navigate the legal process and helped her get back on her feet. Jennifer has been clean and thriving for a few years and she now works with the SUPP program as a Parent Ally with the F.I.R.S.T Legal Clinic.
