In this interview, conducted on Sunday November 29th, 2020 in Tijeras, New Mexico, Julianna McDonald (17) talks with her grandpa, Jim West (74) about his life. Starting with his childhood at Bacone College, where he grew up as his parents worked as faculty. He talks about his experience as a Cheyenne-American in the United States and his family heritage from both sides of his family coming from a interracial marriage household. He shares his growth and inspiration from his own interracial marriage with his wife Elaine west, and how huge societal changes in the 60s/70s (such as the Civil Rights Movements, assassination of President Kennedy, and the Vietnam War) affected his life.
