Jody is a school nurse and mother of three living in suburban Charlottesville, and Michael is retired from a career as a clinician and in medical device sales. They discuss recovery from eating disorders and substance abuse, how much progress American society has made towards inclusivity, and how the 2016 election and the COVID-19 pandemic has changed their awareness of and attitude towards politics. Jody discusses her grandfather, who was a United States congressman from the Bronx, and how growing up around his career shaped her early understanding of politics. Michael talks about the conversations he has with his golfing buddies, who are more conservative than him.
