- JA, "Both sides of the fence [parties] need to ratchet the rhetoric down and become productive."
- CV, "What do you mean 'freedom over equality?"
- JA, "I believe that most people are good. I want the freedom to study the issues rather than be told what to believe."
- CV, "You have 'white guy' freedom, what about my freedom?"
- JA, "I cannot speak to your female experiences, however I don't disagree with equal pay for the same work."
- JA, "I don't want the truth dictated to me."
- JA, "I'm learning right now."
