L describes what it was like growing up in the 1930s during the Great Depression.
L says although her parents were both hardworking, her father was abusive.
L describes the first job she had picking cherries.
L says after graduating college she was a school teacher.
L says she studied rural education because there was a great need for teachers in rural communities.
L details the many places she lived and moved around to while working in education.
L says WWII was a turning point in her career.
L speaks about what life was like for her family during WWII.
L recalls finding a store that had gum during WWII. She says gum and sugar were nearly impossible to come by.
L explains how she met her husband Ken.
L shares some of her fondest memories of raising her children and being with her grandchildren.
