This One Small Step conversation was recorded in Charlottesville, Virginia as part of the Sorensen Institute’s summer High School Leaders Program in 2023. Kat Liebowitz (17) from Alexandria and Cadigan Periello (16) from Charlottesville discuss their political memories and belief systems. Kat discusses her father’s involvement in political consulting, and how they have different political beliefs from one another. Cadigan shares what she learned from her experience watching her uncle run for Congress and briefly serve as a representative. They talk about being young politically active women, and the role that their identity plays in the issues they care about.
