Kate Walldorf (19) from Charleston, SC, and Aishani Patnaik (19) from Ashburn, VA participated in this One Small Step conversation as part of their Public Service Pathways 1-credit UNST course at UVA. Aishani shares how her brother’s health challenges inspired her to pursue a career in medicine and service. Kate’s passion for sustainability in business led her to the PSP program. They spend time learning about their different family backgrounds and sibling dynamics before diving into belief systems. Kate shares about her father’s political background and activities with the Republican Party, and talks about where their beliefs align and diverge, especially on social issues. Aishani describes having more liberal views but being disenchanted with the political environment.
