Kathryn Baer (19) from Charlottesville, VA and Maya Berry (19) from Reston, VA participated in this One Small Step conversation as part of their Public Service Pathways 1-credit UNST course at UVA. Maya identifies as a Democrat, and describes some of her views as pro-choice and anti-guns. They have different levels of engagement with politics; Kathryn shares that she doesn’t hold very strong political beliefs, but describes having some socially liberal positions. They describe their respective study-abroad experiences, and find commonality in their close relationships with their mothers.
