LH and JF share memories from their childhood in Florida - the freedom they experienced, living near the beach. "[We were] so close to home still, and [we felt] so far away," JF says.
JF talks about those who have inspired her strength and independence - parents, as well as a boss. LH also shares - their grandma, their mother.
LH gives context to her decision to enlist for the military after she had been married with children. She speaks in particular about how her husband's family inspired her.
Together, they recall some stories from LH's time in basic training.
LH reflects on the impact of her being away during her military service on herself and on her family.
