Description

Native American, Lemuel Dale "L. D. Cook" speaks about living on the Red River on the northern border of Texas. He recalls instances of fishing, observing wild birds and animals, seeing firsthand the infamous "Red River quicksand" kill animals. He also recounts instances of people's "unwise" behavior" on the Red River and the consequences of that. He has found old 1800s wagons in the Red River and ancient pottery at the site of former Indian mounds. He also speaks of his time on an icebreaker in the Arctic.
