Lillian (20) and Donna (68) have a One Small Step conversation in Charlottesville, Virginia. Lillian is a Third Year student at the University of Virginia studying public policy, leadership, and religious studies. Donna is the current chair of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, and the first transgender elected official to hold the highest office in the county. Lillian shares how growing up with strong influence from both Polish and Puerto Rican cultures has shaped her. Donna discusses her time as a Navy captain, as well as her involvements in local politics. The two talk about their different relationships with faith, and bond over experiences that have led them both to have an interest in welfare policy.
