Lydia Smith (19) from South Hill, Virginia, and Jordan Perez (19) from Harrisonburg, Virginia participated in this One Small Step conversation as part of their Public Service Pathways 1-credit UNST course at UVA. Lydia shares about how her work with kids over the last five years has taught her so much about herself, including her aspiration to be a behavioral analyst for children. Jordan talks about the influence of his high school biology teacher and his mom, who is also a teacher, on his desire to be a lifelong learner. The pair bonds over the unique role’s education have played in their lives and discuss how religion (and lack of religion) has impacted the person they are today.
