Maggie Polistina (19) from Westchester, New York and Greenwich, Connecticut and Ellie Maruca (19) from Richmond, Virginia participated in this One Small Step conversation as part of their Public Service Pathways 1-credit UNST course at UVA. Maggie shares about growing up in a multi-generational home where caregiving was a top priority. Ellie talks about the impact her best freinds had on her in forming her values and beliefs. The pair bonds over a shared enjoyment of theater and volunteering and discuss what it's like to reconcile different beliefs among loved ones in an increasingly polarized society.
