Subject Log / Time Code

Mana Derakshani (MD) and Susan Tauch (ST) introduce themselves.
MD asks ST about living in the woods, her animals and textiles.
ST says raising sheep turned her into a vegetarian.
MD says the most influential person was her grandmother who lived in Morocco, but traveled, loved poetry, and was tender-hearted.
ST talks about her parents work - her father was the station master of the town, her grandmother baked and made quilts, and cooked for ranch hands.
ST is surprised that MD is a French teacher.
ST finds redlining to be an issue everywhere.
MD shares that when she moved to South Bend, she was advised not to live west side of town.
MD hopes for the future that there will be world peace because of Baha'i faith.
