Mount Saint Helen's Eruption

Description

Eager to learn more about his family history, Glen Loveland sat down with his mother Celia Loveland and asked if she could recount her experiences during the disastrous 1980 eruption of Mount Saint Helens in Washington. Celia described the shock and awe she felt witnessing the volcano erupt in a lateral blast, as well as the widespread destruction to the surrounding areas. She told Glen about not having to evacuate but having vivid memories of seeing the aftermath and how the eruption impacted her community at the time.
