UVA students Nancy (20) from the Fairfax, Virginia area and Cameron (20) from the Richmond, Virginia area recorded a One Small Step conversation as a part of their course "Democracy and Public Service." They talked a lot about family dynamics, and what it was like coming from immigrant families. They agreed that this sort of upbringing had a profound impact on what politics looked like, and where they stood politically. They briefly talked about the impact of growing up religious, and how their relationships with religion conflicts with their political beliefs.
