Reese Leonard and Julia McCormack

UVA students Reese Leonard (20) from Aspen, Colorado and Julia McCormack (19) from Silver Spring, Maryland recorded a One Small Step conversation as part of their course 'Democracy and Public Service'. They talked mostly about their own personal journey of growth to where they both are today. They occupy the same space, but in completely different ways. Julia is apart of ROTC and the rugby team while Reese is pre-med and apart of Greek life. These differences were able to broaden both of their perspective of the same university they attend. Another big topic of conversation was home life and how that translates into who they both are today. Reese grew up traveling over half the year and moving to four different states, while Julia never moved. While some of their beliefs were slightly different, their perspective of the world and society broadly were not dissimilar.
