Louis Segale (89) talks with his friend Monica Rizzo (48) about his life in San Francisco before WWII and his experiences during the War and the Battle of the Bulge.

L born and grew up in San Francisco where the family had a home on Telegraph Hill.
L and wife met when they both worked at the Palace Theater in SF.
Sent to England during WWII where his unit worked with half tracks and L learned code for communications.
L's unit sent to Battle of the Bulge during cold winter weather of 20 to 40 degrees below zero.
Present at the liberation of concentration camps including Buchenwald.
After end of the war, L stayed on and attended classes at the University of Wales.
Called up from the Reserves during the Korean War and returned to active duty but did not serve in Korea.
