UVA students Shannon Dinkler (21) from Virginia Beach, VA and Eliza Sanusi (22) from Charlottesville, VA recorded a One Small Step conversation as part of their course, Lead from Anywhere. Shannon and Eliza discussed their diverging upbringing and how their family life and early experiences impacted their journeys in discovering their political values. Despite the opposing childhoods, Eliza and Shannon found common ground upon entering the college space. Eliza and Shannon spoke about the impact of religion, immigration, disability, and pressures of civic engagement on a younger generation.
