Description

Lifelong resident of the rural Spring Creek community of Madison County, NC, Agnes Brooks, tells her younger neighbor, John Kirkpatrick, about her life in the mid-to-late 1900's: how she met her husband on the school bus and how they raised livestock, farmed, canned sausage, venison and vegetables, got along with their neighbors, went to church, and experienced the blizzard of 1993.
