This is the story of how my 65 year grandmother came to the United States and was able to provide for her and her children.
My grandma is a first generation immigrant to the United States. She came to this country from Ecuador at 8 years old. She shared with me her memories as a young child living in Ecuador and growing up in Chicago.
I interviewed my mom on her transition from a small town in Mexico to living in Chicago. We talked on her journey as an immigrant and her early years here in the states.
