Subject Log / Time Code

Joe is plagued with stage fright and shyness. These feelings became so acute he left the acting world. When he began volunteering at the International Center - he found it to be one of few relaxing places he’d ever been.
In many ways Joe feels like a different person. He has been teaching at the ICNYC for twenty years.
It is difficult for Joe to recognize but he believes he has made a difference in some students’ lives. One student calls him every year on his birthday.
Joe teaches a class called, “A Funny Thing About English”. He describes it as a performance piece in that he sings and dances. Usually students will repeat anything he says throughout the class.
Emilie notes that students form a line hours before Joe’s class so that they can get good seats.
