Description

Allison Leidner is a program manager for Energy and Infrastructure applications at NASA’s Earth Science Division where she helps inform and connect decision-makers with the science behind renewable energy and climate resilient infrastructure. A conservation biologist by training, Allison recently talked to us about her time studying and naming the crystal skipper butterfly (Atrytonopsis quinteri) native to the sand dunes of North Carolina, how she was able to connect with early career researchers during the COVID pandemic, and why it’s so crucial for us to understand the historical impact we’re having on landscapes that are causing our current biodiversity crisis.
