Description

Sylvain Costes is the Branch Chief, Open Science project manager, and principal investigator for NASA’s Ames Research Center. Sylvain oversees over 80 NASA scientists and technicians, but he’s primarily a biophysicist leading research on radiation and DNA to understand how radiation affects astronauts in space. He talks finding inspiration in Albert Einstein, building a program to consolidate all data coming from space, and going on sleepless “spiritual retreats” at particle accelerator labs, locking in with other scientists to get nine months of work done in two.
