Description

Brad Doorn’s, Water Resources and Agriculture Applied Science Program NASA, work includes forecasting the global food supply, including warnings and predictions about possible problems that might arise due to water supply shortages which can inform global market prices. While the work he does had made huge leaps and bounds since he’s been involved, he says that a major issue moving forward will be finding ways to cope with the overwhelming of new information and data coming in now. He believes machine learning may be an integral part of understanding and using this information moving forward. (Recorded 12 December 2018)
