My Mom is Brigitta Woodward, born and raised in Kalrsruhe, Germany, and 59 years young. My parents married in Germany when my mom was 32, and she left her life there to move to upstate New York with my siblings...

I interviewed my father and we talked about his early childhood in Germany, his education, career, his travels through the world, and the places he lived in. I chose to interview my dad because I find his story very interesting.

I’ve got Dad (born 1939 in Colorado, USA) trapped after Thanksgiving...I ask him about his life since meeting my mom (Anke Breier Keltz, born 1940 in Germany) and what it was like to marry a German in post-WWII United States.

Maureen Bartee (49) interviews her husband, Brad Bartee (57), about his military service in the U.S. Army when the Berlin Wall fell.

Anne Ballard shares stories of her life growing up in Nuremberg during World War II, meeting her African American husband, and moving to America in the 1950s.

We mainly talked about my family’s heritage/ occupations and my dad’s childhood, but we also talked about how he met my mom and where they spent their honeymoon.
